As faculty research extends into global domains in the pursuit of wisdom, truth, and progress, Notre Dame Global (NDG) offers support for those interested in teaching, research, or service learning opportunities abroad.
Through a network of 12 global locations, strategic partnerships, and logistical knowledge, NDG assists faculty with academic events; facilitates communication with libraries, archives, and special collections; and provides funding through a number of grants for faculty-led initiatives.
Fighting for Those with Cystic Fibrosis
A collaboration between Notre Dame and Trinity College Dublin explores a novel method to treat cystic fibrosis.
At Notre Dame, two unlikely professors, along with a partner at Trinity College Dublin, are assessing a novel method to help treat cystic fibrosis. With seed funds from the Luksic Family Foundation and the Berthiaume Institute for Precision Health, and with assistance from doctoral student Yanina Nahum and undergraduate student Neila Gross, they were able to carry out preliminary studies.

Notre Dame Rome invests in graduate and postdoc research
This year, Notre Dame Rome established two new research fellowships, demonstrating the global location’s commitment to the University’s international mission. The first was a residential fellowship awarded to four advanced humanities Ph.D. students in the College of Arts and Letters. The chosen fellows demonstrated the need to conduct work in Rome and to create a cohort of scholars engaged in the academic communities of Notre Dame Rome and of the city.
The second fellowship was established in collaboration with the Department of Humanistic Studies at Università Roma Tre, and with the cosponsorship of the University of Notre Dame College of Arts and Letters and Center for Italian Studies. The one-year postdoctoral fellowship will focus on “critical success and international diffusion of female Renaissance poetry.”

Business on the Frontlines continues work with Palestinian artisans
The West Bank city of Jenin is an area plagued by violence and destruction. It is here that the University of Notre Dame’s Meyer Business on the Frontlines Program works with Palestinian women artisans to create economic opportunities for themselves and their families.

The Irish Seminar at Kylemore brings together Irish Studies postgrads from around the world to advance research with leading authors, poets and faculty
Four prominent contemporary writers were in residence with the group in Kylemore: former Ireland Professor of Poetry Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, much lauded first-time historical novelist Ferdia Lennon, New York Times book of the year author Paul Murray (also short-listed for the Booker Prize in 2024), Pulitzer Prize winning former Poet Laureate of the US, Natasha Tretheway.
"This summer school provided us world-class facilities and incredible faculty members from different institutions who are experts in their fields, the program also allowed me to forge deep ties with other Ph.D. students from all over the world.
